Spring Glitter Moth

Materials Needed:

A-2 Pale Lime-Green Card Stock and Coordinated Envelope
Ultrafine Transparent Glitter: #210 Fossil, #164 Chrysalis,
#236 Clementine, #198 Green Briar, #165 Autumn, #237 Lichen,
and #100 Sea Shell

1/8" Sticky Strip, 6" Long
Designer Dries Clear Adhesive
Ultrafine Metal Tip

Gold Leaf or Foil
Soft bristle paint brush
Adhesive dots
Transparency Sheet A-2
Stamps: Barbara's Spring Moth, Stampers Anonymous: #614 and #876 or Comparable
Permanent Ink Pads: Black, Ochre
Scissors: fine point

Directions:

  1. Stamp moth on sheet of paper and copy to transparency, or use transparency ink pad and stamp directly onto transparency sheet with black ink. Set aside to dry.
  2. Apply Designer Dries Clear Adhesive to backside of moth, applying glitter as pictured while glue is wet, white and shiney. Create a gradient pattern by applying colors one at a time in a strip. Tap off excess glitter away from open glue between colors. Overlap colors slightly when applying.
  3. Apply Autumn and Chrysalis to the body of the moth with adhesive.
  4. Set aside to dry.
  5. On card stock, apply flower/wording stamp with Ochre ink to top and bottom, approximately 1/2" from the top and bottom of card.
  6. Apply glitter to stamp pattern. We used Chrysalis, Green Briar and Lichen.
  7. Adhere sticky strip along edge of stamp pattern, cut off excess. Carefully remove cover off sticky strip and apply gold leaf, removing any excess with a soft brush for a clean line.
  8. Allow card and moth to dry completely overnight. Closely cut out moth up to but not including black lines.
  9. Apply adhesive dots to underside of moth and mount in center of card.
