Shelly Hein-Simmons • Dec. - Jan. - Feb. 2010

Shelly Hein-SimmonsI share my home with husband Danny, 3 dogs 1 cat, 1 stray cat, Sheldon the Wonder Turtle and his fish friend, in Lakeside (San Diego) California.  When I am not scrapping, I love being on the water and fishing (hence my online name – Reel Girl!).  Animals and water are a big inspiration in my creations.   I also love sewing, reading and crossword puzzles.  I have been scrapbooking my life and “altering” things since childhood - always gluing pictures and memorabilia into some sort of album and  personalizing every item I owned.  My scrapping and paper crafting took on a new dimension and truly became a creative outlet for me in 2001.  I am proud to have been published in Memory Makers Magazine, and several online scrapbooking and paper crafting Ezines, including Ready, Set, Create! and Scrapbook News and Review.

Anam Stubbington • Dec. - Jan. - Feb. 2010

Anam StubbingtonHello, my name is Anam and  I am so stoked to be here! I have been scrapbooking nearly 6 years now and enjoy it so much – it is my down time, creative space and personal therapist.  Some of you might know me as ‘Kihaku’ around the internet (it means spirit and pronounce Ki-haa-Ku and is Japanese for Anam).

I am originally Irish, moved to the UK a billion years ago to be with Ian – my now hubby – and then 3 years ago we moved to Canada for Ian’s work (he’s a computer games artist).  We have 2 little girls who are our blessing – both came after a long struggle with infertility so they are very precious to us. Fay is 5 ½ years old and about to enter grade 1 – She is a gentle soul but also can be frustrating. Lily is just over a year old and is the opposite of Fay – lily is loud and constantly moving – if anything just by personality Fay is Ian’s and Lily is mine except in the mornings – both Ian and lily are NOT morning people. Ian is very understanding with my paper obsession.  We’ve  been together 11 years now and he is my best friend – supportive and annoying in good measures but I love him totally.

When it comes to scrapbooking, I am all about the stories, the memories, the moments. I love bright colours, dimension and texture. I try to make the paper part of the emotions of the page – getting them to help tell the story so it’s a combined effort of photograph, title, journaling and the papers!. Visit my blog that contains little bits of what goes on in my world: A Little Of My Life

VIOLETTE CLARK • Sept. - Oct. - Nov. 2009

Violette ClarkI am a mixed media artist, author,  designer, workshop instructor and creative catalyst. I live in beautiful B.C. Canada with my partner Mr. G (aptly named for his tolerance of glitter) in a purple magic cottage.  The cottage sports a huge papier mache dragonfly drenched in glitter!

My first book "Journal Bliss: Creative Prompts to Unleash your inner Eccentric" is all about Visual Journaling.  My passion is to teach others to embrace who they are through the vehicle of their creativity.  I do this mainly through classes on Visual Journaling (among other mixed media projects), in my online classes and in my blog. My home, glittery van and art have been featured on numerous TV shows.

You can check out my blog at http://www.violette.ca/blog.html and sign up for my newsletter here www.violette.ca (get free creative playcards!)  Watch my youtube videos here: http://www.youtube.com/user/creativeboho

JAN HENNINGS • Sept. - Oct. - Nov. 2009

Jan Hennings PhotoI've been a card maker for the last fifteen years and have branched out into scrapbook layouts, altered item, gifts and love making 3-D projects. My work has been published in Stampington and Company (Gallery Magazine) and upcoming publication in Bel Armoire Magazine. You can also find my art in scrapbooking.com, Ready, Set, Create! and Scrapbook News and Review.

I currently have projects in Spellbinder's Pendant Contest where my purse was listed and an Honorable Mention and on the Bind-It-All blog where my Summer Fun Album was chosen as a winner in their contest.

LINDA HESS • June - July - August 2009

Linda HessI have been working with polymer clay since 1994, when I bought a piece from an artist and she allowed me to "pick her brain" about the stuff. I went to the craft shop, bought some, and started on my polymer journey!

Currently I teach polymer clay classes to children in after-school groups and to adults through local bead shops. Their abilities never cease to amaze! I never feel I am going to "work" because I have such fun. I sell my work at craft shows, online, and through local shops. Others have described my work as not fitting into any one niche. I can safely describe my style as multi media/multi-dimensional. I sculpt, cane, quilt, paint, sew, work in paper and scrapbooking...pretty much anything that is asked (Can you??? is a popular question that has only once or twice been answered to the negative).
I am married and have 3 beautiful children.

NANCY WARD June - July - August 2009

I started crafting when I was a child and have never stopped.  Through the years,  I think I’ve fiddled with just about every craft that’s out there.  Some didn’t hold my interest for too long, but paper and fabric have been at the top of my list for years.  Although every craft provides an opportunity to grow and learn,  patchwork and quilting have provided me with knowledge that has been invaluable in all crafting, and especially in paper crafts.

It’s hardly a surprise that the three books I’ve written, Fabric Painting Made Easy, Stamping Made Easy, and The Complete Guide to Glues & Adhesives, contained patchwork/quilting projects.

In addition to the books, I self-published a quilt making pattern, have written many magazine articles, and have an active blog.

I’ve taught a few thousand hours of classes in topics ranging from patchwork/quilting to fabric painting to stamping to rug braiding to embroidery to Christmas crafts to polymer clay to knitting...and more.

I can’t imagine not crafting…it’s what I do!
